So much for balance

My declaration last week that I was going to try and achieve balance was obviously too tempting for the powers that be, because this week I caught my husband’s man flu.  Turns out the man flu was actually bronchitis, and we’ve both been holed up at home all week coughing and spluttering with throats on fire. Lots of fun!

So that awesome fitness challenge we set ourselves? Yeah, that’ll have to wait. After Wednesday, I barely even left the house, let alone went for a run.  Thankfully, we’re through the worst of it now so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards from here. And on a more exciting note, I finished my major edit of part 2 of Tangled this afternoon, which means I’ll have time to give it one last proof read before I send it off to my beta readers next weekend – in line with my project schedule. I love it when things go according to schedule.

Tonight’s post will be a short one, because that’s the length of my attention span at the moment. Hope you’ve had (or are having) a great weekend. 🙂

Hi Cally-Sorry to hear you’re under the weather. Hope you and your husband feel better soon.

  4. I hope you patted yourself on the back for finishing a major edit when you still weren’t feeling great.

  5. Oh goodness, bronchitis is SO much fun, Cally! Not! Don’t get too down on yourself; it’s not like you can control having gotten sick and such. When you feel better, get back on track, but take it a bit easy at first. Half the time you relapse with bronchitis, because of pushing yourself too hard after being ill (medical background talking, here).

As for the editing, awesome! I can’t wait to read the finished product. At least you can congratulate yourself for doing that while being so sick. If it were me, I’d have just remained curled up in a whiny ball and waited it out.

Who do you have beta-ing for you, a service or friends? Just curious, I shall be needing such myself, soon, so I’m just trying to find out what others are doing.

You and hubby feel better soon!

    • Thanks, Jessie. And don’t worry – I promise not to push myself too hard!

In answer to your question about beta readers, I have a mixture – I have friends, people from my writers’ group, blogging buddies and some complete strangers who answered a call-out I did on my blog! So far, I’ve found it really useful to have a mix. But it’s early day, so stay tuned! 🙂

Oh no. So sorry you were sick. Hope you’re feeling better and will be up and running in no time. Congrats on meeting your editing goal! Doesn’t that feel awesome?

  7. I hope you feel better! And congrats on the editing! I just keep falling more and more behind (my brain’s been on ponies instead of editing lately…)

  8. Get well soon! Then you can rethink that whole balance thing.

  9. Hope you feel better soon. 🙂 Gotta hate the flu!
